Tummy Trouble Thursday

Is it weird to say that I'm excited to start this new series? I'm not so excited that all accounts will be first hand experiences but I hope through this I can find and help others find a tummy happy lifestyle.

It's been about 3 weeks since I had my gallbladder removed and while I can happily say the excruciating pain is gone, I'm still feeling very sick. Being only 22 and 4 months away from wedding, I am determined to forge ahead on my own gut- healing path.

Gallbladder Removal Surgery

The first thing I had to understand was what the gallbladder did and what my body does now that I don't have a gallbladder.

    Here's what Google has to say;
  1. "The gallbladder is a small organ that sits under your liver. It stores, concentrates, and helps secrete bile, a liquid made by your liver that helps digest fatty foods. If you need to have surgery to remove your gallbladder, your liver still makes enough bile for normal digestion."
Now that I'm without a gallbladder nothing controls the secretion of bile and this keeps my digestive track constantly inflamed. Some days seem to be worse than others and every single thing I ate affects me drastically. So now I embark on a mission of combining diet, exercise, and supplements to keep my tummy happy and healthy.

During this series I will share updates on how I feel, meals that are easy to digest, and foods that heal your gut. Stay tuned to more from "Tummy Trouble Thursday"!
