The Best Weekend Ever

Our wedding weekend was everything we could have asked for and more. The year and a half of planning, stressing, and mapping out every single detail was all worth it as soon as I saw my new husband... I promised myself I would blog about our special day to preserve the precious memories for as long as possible and to inspire all those DIY brides out there!!

Now, we went extreme when it came to DIY projects! Most people will tell you to let the experts handle certain things like hair/ make up, photos, and catering. Well I am here to tell you we did all of that ourselves, with the amazing help of our family and friends. Everyone pitched in and new their role in the process!

I will say my poor sister, aka my go-to-for-all-things-wedding, would probably have enjoyed the day better had she been able to be "off duty". If you do plan on not hiring a wedding coordinator, make sure to appoint someone who doesn't mind being in charge and is able to stay organized and keep you calm! My sister was all of those things, seriously couldn't have pulled our day off without her!

We actually kept all "jobs" in the family, which made it so much more
meaningful! Our parents cooked every ounce of delicious food that was served. (Except the cake, we ordered it from Whole Foods.) The brother-in-laws were in charge of music and video-graphing! (Talk about a money saver!) & the whole wedding party help transform our cabin into the most beautiful wedding space I've ever seen!!

After everything was said and done, despite a few bumps in the road, things went as planned!! There were lots of blissful memories made, new traditions started, and experiences that will be with us forever! I will continue to spills our DIY details and give you all the dirt on our very non-traditional wedding weekend!
