The Next Chapter: Camper Life

Mr. Battaglia and I are getting ready for another wonderful adventure together. This one has been in the works for a little over two years now so to say we are excited couldn't be more of an understatement. Four months of marriage under our belt and dreams as big as our hearts carrying us through this blissful time in our lives. The path to this adventure was not paved nor did it have road signs. This path was a true test of adulthood and I won't lie there were plenty times I did not want to adult.
For instance those hours spent at three different Camping Worlds haggling with salesmen like we knew what we were doing. Or those hours spent online determining which insurance best fits our needs. This is not the adventure we signed up for. Isn't it funny how the more time that passes the truer our mother's words from childhood become.

"Nothing worth having ever comes easy."
"Sometimes we have to do things we don't want to do."
"I know you're disappointed now but everything happens for a reason."

It's even more funny how in those times all I wish is that our parents could make it easier like they always use to. But now it's our lives, our turn to write the stories we will one day tell our children. It's our turn to learn those lessons we will desperately try to keep them from learning first hand. As scary as that can seem, as much as I don't want to sometimes, there is a sense of confidence that swirls around when I know we just learned one of those lessons. Life happens in the blink of an eye and everyday I'm learning how to cherish these fleeting moments more and more.
In these moments I'm reminded of what's really important, how memories shape you and possessions hold you down. How everyone has a unique path to walk and part of the journey is finding that path. We feel overwhelmingly blessed to be newly married with the feeling of being grounded to that very path. The Battaglia's are getting ready to head out in our beautiful camper and soak up every story, every memory, every lesson we create on the road.
Our wanderlust hearts are becoming more wise and we trust God has us in His will. Please, follow us as I plan to write about our travels in an effort to preserve this special time in our lives.
